RESUMO:

In this work, we show the existence of positive solution for a nonlinear Schrödinger equation considering two classes of potential. This equation has a physical motivation and appears in problems involving nonlinear optics, plasma physics and condensed matter physics. The main tools used are the variational methods, penalization method and regularity theory.
