SUMMARY:

This research concerns the application of the fundamentals of information management to design and propose a self-service service aimed at promoting the health and safety of public agents with the same level of care and quality of service in a scenario in which UFRN employees, subject to Law No. 8,112/1990 and EBSERH workers, linked to the legal regime of the Consolidation of Labor Laws (Decree-Law No. 5,452/1943), in the premises of the University Hospital Onofre Lopes (Natal/RN). Due to the legal problems involved in the case under study, it is emphasized that the health and safety services at work, due to their nature of preserving the physical and mental health of people, especially sharing the same premises, should not be offered differently in relation to individuals. In view of this, the main objective is to investigate the paths to be followed for the development and proposition of an informational support service in order to assist UFRN employees in the process of searching for information on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). In order to fully meet the core purpose of this proposal, it is essential to achieve the following specific objectives: a) Identify the level of satisfaction with the Occupational Health and Safety services in the domains of HUOL/EBSERH and UFRN; b) Check existing processes in the OHS area in both units (HUOL/EBSERH and UFRN); c) Prove the legal viability of the proposed informational support service through comparative analysis of the normative instruments applicable to the units; d) Mapping pre- existing information flows in both contexts; e) Propose the unification of informational flows in order to make them convergent; f) Develop and propose a self-service health and safety at work service. The research methodology will involve an inductive approach, through a case study based on documentary techniques, questionnaires and interviews. It is believed that, in the end, with the processes and flows duly mapped and convergent, free of barriers, consolidated through a self-service service, it will be possible to promote isonomic treatment to UFRN employees in terms of occupational health promotion services.
