SUMMARY:
It addresses Information Security from the point of view of the General Data Protection Law and exposes the Liga Norte Riograndense Contra o Câncer as the chosen institution for the development of the research. It seeks to answer the problem of how to foster a culture of Information Security under the precepts of the General Data Protection Law with the participation of the Institution's collaborators can contribute to resolve vulnerabilities of personal and sensitive personal data that transit in the League Against Cancer and in its artners. The general objective consists of proposing actions to adapt to the General Data Protection Law, fostering an Information Security culture among the employees of the Liga Norte Riograndense Contra o Câncer through Business Process Management. As specific objectives are: Identify the personal and sensitive personal data that are used in LIGA's sectors and in which processes; Map selected processes with processing of personal and sensitive personal data; Adjust the processes mapped according to the law, based on a Business Process Management (BPM) methodology; Apply new pre-established LGPD actions in LIGA; Build a LGPD compliance model for LIGA. The research is important for discussing and relating topics such as the General Data Protection and Information Security Law applied to the health area. It has scientific relevance for deepening studies that contribute to the adequacy of the Law in a private health service and can be perpetuated in services with similar characteristics. As a methodology, the research is characterized as exploratory, qualitative, inductive and case study. As for data collection techniques, referring to indirect documentation, the research is bibliographical and documental. And in the direct documentation there is the action research, standardized interview with the application of forms and Business Process Management with the EBPM methodology. In this way, it aims to promote an even more reliable and transparent relationship between the Institution and society in a way that reinforces the capacity of the information professional to work in any area that brings information as an asset.
