SUMMARY:

This work has as its object of analysis domestic work in Brazil. This work has only recently been recognized as a regular job, due to its specific characteristics, namely, it is work performed by women, white or black, from lower classes. that is, it is work carried out by women, white or black, from lower classes. Furthermore, it is carried out in the domestic space. The particularities surrounding it have historically made it invisible, and as a result, it is precarious work that has had its labour rights recognized belatedly. In this context, ethnographic research was carried out to answer the following question: Has the enactment of the "PEC das domésticas" interfered with it or changed the daily lives of these women as a result of their gaining new labor rights? Therefore, the general objective of this research is to analyze how the process of historical construction and the creation of the rights of domestic workers in the State field intervenes in the lives of the workers interviewed and in their access to these labor laws. To think theoretically, we used categories such as the State field, in Pierre Bourdieu; intersectionality, to reflect on the link between gender, race and class, in the light of Patricia Hill Collins, among others. For this purpose an ethnographic research is being developed on two investigative fronts: the first analyzes documents, such as legislation (Constitutional Amendment 72/2013) and newspaper excerpts from the Hemeroteca Digital. The second investigates the trajectory of domestic workers, in Natal/RN, based on semi-structured interviews.
