SUMMARY:

Aiming to reflect on and from the experience of lesbian women in the Metropolitan Region of the city of Natal (in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil), this research starting point was the ethnographic analysis of the research interlocutor's participation (whether as an audience, producers, or artists) in leisure and socialization spaces, specifically bars and parties, aimed at this target audience. Due to the sanitary crisis, it was necessary to redirect the research locus, abandoning the observation of the participants in the places mentioned above, turning the efforts to the historical-bibliographic recovery of some spaces to (re)build part of this scenario. Moreover, face-to-face and remote semistructured interviews were carried out aiming to shed light on how their life trajectories articulate with the construction of lesbian identity, highlighting particular dynamics of the production of the self, circulation around the city, family negotiations, etc., and revealing specific tangles at the intersections between sexuality, gender, corporealities, social status, race, and territory in the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil.
