SUMMARY:

 Queimadas, located in the municipality of Taipu, in the region of Mato Grande, is a black rural community that lives from agricultural activities combining temporary crops (cassava, beans and corn) and sugarcane monoculture. The locality that is situated in a territory where there is a strong MST presence and where there was an ethnic emergency, has not benefited from federal development programs or ethnic mobilization, continues to have poor infrastructure and dependence on local authorities. He knew internal and external conflicts, involving ethnic-racial, territorial and political aspects. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the historical trajectory of the struggle for land in Queimadas. For this, we started from participant observation and semi-structured interviews in the researched community and in the institutions linked to the city hall. In addition to documentary and bibliographic analysis, aerial images and maps were worked on to identify the territory and its conflicts.
