RESUMO:

This research aims to analyze the imaginary in the face of the supernatural, mainly with the Matinta Perera myth, based on beliefs and memories of residents of the Guamá neighborhood, in Belém do Pará, using an examination of the inhabitants' perceptions about space in who live and lived, from their memories and experiences. Therefore, it is important to go through the processes of urbanization and structure in this neighborhood, in order to better understand the landscape and its transformations. It is also necessary the argument about migratory processes from the hinterlands of Pará state Pará and other states to the city of Belém in order to insert a discussion on the interface between rural and urban in the Amazonian context, constructing an analysis of the redefined spaces idea; and the articulation of the elements of local fauna and flora in the supernatural myths, for the relational debate between landscape, memory, subjects and space. For this, I use the ethnographic method, with visits to two associations of Guamá neighborhood residents, AMI (Association of the Best Age of Guamá Residents) and ECNB (Cultural Spacre Our Library). For the conversations with the participants of these associations, I opted for open and semi-open interviews.
