SUMMARY:

The present work aimed at applying electrochemical technology in order to assess the electrochemical degradation of a model organic compound and to analyze the efficiency of the synthesis of carboxylic acids, as well as the simultaneous production of H2(g) at different current densities (15, 30 and 45mA/cm2). Initially, a three-compartment flow electrochemical reactor was developed, in serial mode and combining the electrocatalytic properties of two inactive anodes (PbO2-F and BDD) to assess the economic and energy point of view of the system, powered by an energy source connected to photovoltaic panels. (energia solar). Finally, a mathematical model was developed to represent the electrochemical reactor, as well as the reactions involved in the electrochemical process. The orange methyl dye was chosen as a model organic pollutant because it is a dark orange, water-soluble monoazole substance commonly used by the textile industries.
