SUMMARY:

The global logistics chain occurs mainly through the movement of cargo through water transport and, as a consequence, through port complexes, which in turn integrates a series of transformations in society, from its design to its installation. Among the changes brought about, socioeconomic and environmental factors can be highlighted. In this context, it is important that instruments are established to evaluate performance indicators in green ports. The present study aims to develop an instrument to diagnose social, economic and environmental indicators in green ports and the impact on the development of the local community. This tool can be applied by port authorities and companies operating in the port or even for future port facility projects, as a tool for monitoring and adapting the port's socioeconomic and environmental management. Information from case studies was collected and the dimensions were systematized. Indicators and aspects of some social, economic and environmental performance instruments, general and specific to the sector, were also considered. As a result, a preliminary proposal will be established to create a term of reference containing these performance indicators for ports, based on the scenario observed in Brazil and around the world.
