SUMMARY:

Considering the reduced public budget, when compared to the high demands of the healthcare sector, the optimization of resource allocation is a growing concern for the management of healthcare facilities, however, there are several factors that influence this type of initiative, being the decision making is an extremely relevant factor. The project portfolio selection that will be carried out in these medical centers directly imply the maintenance of good physical infraestructure conditions, enabling the provision of excellent services and are directly linked to the volume of services that can be offered, however, several aspects should be considered for the selection of these projects. Multicriteria Decision Analysis is a set of methods that can assist in the process of evaluating alternatives considering several criteria simultaneously, aiding the decision-making process. This research seeks to assist the process for prioritizing infrastructure projects for the composition of a project portfolio with a multicriteria model to support decision making. The model considers the several important criteria according to the decision maker's perspective, as well as the interactions between the projects and the existing constraints, so that the best set of infrastructure projects is chosen, optimizing the allocation of resources and contributing to the improving of healthcare services.
