The Brazilian Judiciary has challenges when it comes to productivity and efficiency since it still generates in society the perception that it is time consuming and inefficient. To face this reality, the National Council of Justice establishes monitoring of indicators by the courts, seeking to boost the speed of proceedings and the satisfaction of the jurisdiction. Based on the behavior of the Process Congestion Tax indicator, which measures the effectiveness of the country's courts, this study aims to demonstrate the capacity of data science to influence productivity and efficiency. This research consists of a case study in the State Court of Rio Grande do Norte, with the application of the statistical control of the process, identifying if the process is statistically stable and if it is under control. In addition, the process capability indices are analyzed, diagnosing if it is able to satisfy the required definitions. The possibility of applying the time series model is still identified, based on data observation regarding seasonality, trend, and autocorrelation. At the end of this study, it is expected to develop a methodology capable of being replicated in other units and courts, thus ensuring that the quality of the process is constantly monitored, helping to achieve better efficiency results.
