RESUMO:

The exclusionary and predatory urban development model, the occupation of major of people’s time with the use of digital technologies and the valuation of the individualistic culture in the society have contributed to the physical separation and socialization failure of the people in the cities, reaching also the children. In addition, public spaces for socialization for recreation and playing, are insufficient, and many existing ones, such as squares and parks, lack infrastructure, organization, cleanliness and specific spaces for children to play, such as toys and playgrounds. From an overview, it can be seen that the squares and parks of most Brazilian cities, especially the ones, are poorly managed; this can be highlighted by the precariousness of infrastructure (toilets, lighting, cafeterias, etc.) and lack of organization, conservation and cleanliness. The scenario found through exploratory field observations in the city of Natal-RN shows abandonment of these places, specifications inadequacy of existing toys and,in particular, lack of attractiveness - not only the design of children's toys, but also of the environment in which they are inserted. In addition, public spaces, especially playgrounds play a very important role for children's development because, through the activity of play, they provide: the experience of children's leisure; the socialization; the development of physical, cognitive, social and psychological skills; the imagination; creativity; the feelings and the sensations. In this sense, the aim of this study is to present guidelines for the design of playgrounds in public spaces, formulated based on the principles of Ergonomics and Emotional Design, focusing on the experiences of children using these equipment leading to the following criteria: ergonomic (anthropometric, cognitive, comfort, etc.), emotional-affective, safety and accessibility. Thus, the methods of ethnography and action research will be adopted, represented by the Ergonomic Work Analysis (EWA). The EWA will be adapted, as this project will analyze the activity in toys of a playground in a public square in the city of Natal-RN, Brazil. Interaction and observation techniques with children will be used, by means of drawing workshop, conversations, statements and direct observations (open and systematic) of the children's activity (with photographic and video records). This research project will be formalized in the Ethical Committee date in Brazil Platform , and the research with the children will be carried out with the authorization of the respective parents or guardians, through the signing of the term 'free and informed consent (TCLE). Thus, at the end of this project, it is expected to elaborate and make available project guidelines that will integrally bring together the aforementioned factors, so that these items can be incorporated into the projects of parks, in order to provide experiences that elicit positive emotional responses and promote safety, accessibility and comfort in play activities through the toy-user-environment interface.
