RESUMO:

The concept of fast fashion is to create consumer trends and to provide low-income consumers with fashionable items at an affordable price. Fashion is a reflection of a process about how society behaves and with the advent of social networks this behavior has undergone rapid changes, making it difficult to follow up on the part of the textile industry, since there is no way to optimize the production lead time , without sacrificing certain stages of the production process. As demand grows, companies need a good infrastructure, a supply chain, and an active development team to understand the needs of the market, in order to market their products faster. In order to reach the proposal of quickly providing the products to the consumer, as well as the similar proposal that these products have attractive prices, the textile industry disregards the need to control certain quality items in its production process, that the absence of these controls optimizes the process and reduces the operational cost. However, although quality is a subjective characteristic, being directly proportional to the value of the product and that a product is not considered defective due to the fact that there is another of better quality in the market, it should not be confused with defective quality, especially a defect hidden. Based on this scenario, the present work aims to verify if the fast fashion textile industry does not control the quality items related to the hidden defects, specifically on t-shirts. The study was delineated by a survey-type survey, with the acquisition of the product in the main fast fashion stores present in 10 Brazilian cities, covering different regions of the country: South, Southeast, North and Northeast. From this sample, this research was developed in order to identify the hidden defects, associating with the respective parameters of tolerance, defined in national and international technical norms. The tests were performed obeying the guidelines contained in the respective technical standards. The results made it possible to confirm the hypothesis that the fast fashion textile industry produces and sells t-shirts with hidden defects, as well as identifying that the most frequent defect is shrinkage after washing. It is therefore imperative that this cycle is interrupted so that the consumer can exercise his right to purchase a t-shirt that does not shrink after being washed.
