RESUMO:

Education is considered essential for the formation of individuals, both in terms of their intellectual aspects and their social and ethical development, as well as being the most effective means of breaking with unfavorable social realities, and schools are still considered the main source for the teaching-learning process objectified by education. In Brazil, it is the state's duty to guarantee compulsory, free and quality basic education for children and young people. However, the indicators of school performance reveal that there is still a need for improvement in public education so that satisfactory standards can be reached, developed countries. However, the search for improvements in public education is hampered by the lack of control of the sector and the lack of budget. In order to remedy such problems, the Education Department of Rio Grande do Norte has been using the Integrated Education Management System since 2012 for the purposes of school management and control. The aim of this research is to analyze the impact that the use of the Information System in school management brings to the improvement of the performance indicators of schools in the public school system of the state, since such impacts were never measured. This will be used for collecting and analyzing information and data for bibliographic exploration, multivariate analysis of data together with the Kohonen self-organizing clustering technique and the questionnaire application in schools of the state network. In general, it is expected to obtain an overview of the impact that the use of this system has had on education indicators, as well as to find possible gaps and improvement points regarding the use of the system in school management as a way to generate a continuous improvement of the process.
