RESUMO:

Organizational commitment is related to the interactions between workers and organizations. It is considered a response to the factors that involve labor relations. And it is present in all sectors of market action, being considered very influential to the competitive advantage of organizations. Therefore, the increasing importance that has been given to the theme in the last decades is remarkable. Even in the academic area, given the great importance of the area to society. As with organizations in different sectors, it is both a challenge and an advantage for the educational institutions to have committed employees. In view of this the present research has as general objective to elaborate a model that identifies the relations of the determining factors of the organizational commitment of the teachers. The literature review explores organizational commitment, the main approaches to organizational commitment, the conditions offered by HEIs, peer responsibility, personal responsibility, recognition and pay. The study is characterized as a quantitative research, which will use a survey as a data collection instrument, which will be applied at the national level, with all the teachers of the graduate studies in production engineering in Brazil. The analysis of the data will use structural equation modeling and to treat the data and generate the necessary results to carry out the analyzes, Smart Pls software will be used. It is hoped at the end of this research to know the determinants of the organizational commitment of the teachers. As well as understanding the characteristics and needs of this working class, in relation to their work environment.
