RESUMO:

Higher education is universally recognized as a key pillar in the construction of new knowledge economies. However, the Brazilian universities, in general, does not explore its potential to inspire and stimulate ambition and innovation in university entrepreneurs. In light of this perspective, 56% of entrepreneurship students believe that entrepreneurship initiatives are essential to prepare them, but only 38.78% of the universities offer these opportunities on average, and of these, the highest percentage, 33.1%, corresponds to the presence of some type of student organization focused on small businesses, in which the Junior Enterprise fits. In order to contribute to the development and expansion of this activity, the present research aims at analyzing how the entrepreneurial intention of the Brazilian university students linked to the junior enterprise behaves through the Modeling of Structural Equations (MEE). The theoretical toolkit is centered on entrepreneurial intention and academic entrepreneurship subjects, beyond the contextualization of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Regarding the methodology used, the research is characterized as applied with a quantitative approach and the method is based on the MEE. The data collection will be nationwide and will be conducted online through a survey. To analyze the data, Smart PLS software version 2.0 will be used with MEE techniques in order to test the hypotheses of the model with the variables that affect the entrepreneurial intention. With the results, it is expected to verify if the TPB model is adequate to evaluate the entrepreneurial intention of the junior enterprise’s students as well as the impact of the entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial intentions, with implications for universities and on political decision maker as well.
