RESUMO:

The improvement of industries and their management systems has generated several standardizations and optimization processes all over the world, and maintenance management follows this trend. The study and application of a maintenance management system is necessary to enhance the asset management in a company of public institution. Numerous management methods can be grouped into a maintenance management macro process, and its application in a federal public university can be studied. An analysis can be done regarding the adherence to the best industry practices in the maintenance and infrastructure department at this university, during the implementation of a maintenance management system. A pilot plant for initial use if this management system can be established, for the execution of project to implement the management system. Through this implementation, data can be created and studied in order to determine a comparison between the initial and end stages of the asset management in the pilot plant.
