RESUMO:

With the growth of private education institutions in the country, the search continues to improve the quality of teaching and processes, making portfolio creation an important process, because choosing correctly means avoiding wasted time and resources. This work aims to create a model of criteria for selection of IT projects in an educational environment, but specifically in Private Higher Education Institutions using the multi criteria method, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). This study has as scope to deepen the demands of the business areas (Academic, Finance, Human Resources, Commercial, Student Relations) and received by the Information Technology area, where its importance increases every day, making it a Strategic area for the Institutions, as it provides improvement in teaching quality, technological advancement, innovation and supports the business to achieve the strategic objectives. Thus, the Analytic Hierarchy Process is an efficient and simple to use method, which brings agility to the process of selecting projects with low cost and low complexity. In order to reach the objective, a research will be carried out in the Institutions of Higher Education to find out which are the most important criteria, to carry out the judgments on a par to create the prioritization matrix proposed a conceptual criteria model to compose the AHP. It is hoped that the model will be able to assist the decision-makers of the Private Higher Education Institutions to transform ideas in projects that are the most strategic and important, enabling an improvement in the region's higher education, as well as its planning and management.
