RESUMO:

The standard industrial model brings a linear sequence of extraction, production and distribution, providing a immense reduction of natural resources. The fishing industry can provide a productive increase by causing environmental damages, mainly in the increase of the generation of residues, caused by the waste in the production, these residues in turn, like scales, viscera and heads could be availed for the elaboration of byproducts, But much of it goes to waste. It is identified that in the fishing industry there is a consumption of natural resources, and consequently the generation of waste and emission of pollutants, for having high share of waste, contributing to environmental degradation. Therefore Cleaner Production - PML, a preventive strategy of Environmental Management, can be used in the industrial sector, and that in an appropriate way, can collaborate to reduce costs and waste, making the use of the raw material more efficient, and may even increase The competitiveness and productivity of industries. In view of this scenario, the objective of this work will be to identify, within the three PML levels, the best use of the main raw material of the RN fish industry. The research is multiple cases, which is limited to the study of four fishing industries, in the state of RN, that serves different lines of fish processing. In addition, the research is also considered exploratory and descriptive. Having as expected results the best use of the raw material of the fish industries studied, through the three levels of PML.
