RESUMO:

Wind energy has attracted significant attention over recent decades because it is clean and renewable energy. This, together with other renewable sources, reconciles the energy needs of a society, replacing sources that pollute the environment, like energy from fossil fuels. Installed wind capacity of 10.92 GW represents, in 2017, a 7.2% share of the Brazilian power grid. The development of tools, aimed at prospecting in the electric energy market, in order to stimulate competitiveness in the auctions where wind energy is suitable, the factor that drives even more evolution of the market of renewable energies. The objective of this research is to propose a reference model for the process of prospecting wind farms in accordance with Brazilian norms and regulations. The research is characterized as descriptive, with a qualitative approach that uses as case studies technique. The research procedure should be conducted in four steps. The first stage corresponds to the review of the literature and standards of the wind energy sector in Brazil. The second includes an exploratory research on wind farm prospecting activities in three companies. The third step includes conducting the case study in companies using the research protocol in Appendix A. The fourth step includes a modeling of elements, activities, methods and tools for structuring the reference model in wind farm prospection. As a result of the research, a chart with a description of the prospecting activities and methods, techniques and tools in the execution of the activities should be obtained.
