SUMMARY:

The daily performance of the family of children with hearing loss has been highlighted as one of the most robust factors for their healthy development, since it is the agent that can provide the child with continuous and practical support in the most effective way. Thus, the guidelines that the family should receive, as early as possible, about the hearing impairment and the child's development are essential so that the family can feel confident in cooperating in this process. There is, however, a lack of studies, especially experimental ones, that assess the effectiveness of intervention programs on this topic. Thus, the general objective of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of an intensive remote training program aimed at families of children with hearing impairment. This is a study with application of a mixed method, methodological (development of a program) and short-term intervention, randomized, blind, to be carried out remotely. Will be invited to participate 20 families of children with hearing loss users of a service of auditory rehabilitation of the SUS, which will be randomized in control and experimental groups. After the stage of content validation of the appearance of the materials used in the intervention program, data collection will begin with the participating families, who will answer pre and post questionnaires about their self-esteem, empowerment, parental stress and their child's development. with hearing impairment. The intensive remote training will take place using games and an educational booklet and will be carried out in 4 weeks, consisting of 2 cycles, the first with group sessions (5 sessions), the second cycle with individual sessions (15 sessions), totaling 20 sessions. All training sessions will last an average of 40 minutes. Descriptive analysis of the information needs of families, parental stress, self-esteem, empowerment, and child skills will be carried out using tables and graphs. The inferential analysis will rely on the calculation of the Content Validity Index (CVI) and Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, which will estimate the inter-rater reliability for the analysis of the proposed intervention program. In addition, the comparison between the control and experimental groups will be performed by calculating the JT Test (Jacobson, Truax, 1991), which allows the analysis of the reliable index of change and clinical significance. For the qualitative analysis of the household satisfaction questionnaire, in the open questions, the content analysis approach will be used (Bardin, 2011). As a result, it is expected that the research will bring recommendations for practice in hearing rehabilitation services, thus optimizing the development results and the inclusion of hard of hearing children.
