RESUMO:

The impact of hearing impairment is widely known as to its effects on child development. Hearing impairment may be caused by genetic, congenital or acquired factors. Infections that can be acquired during pregnancy include toxoplasmosis, rubella, cytomegalovirus, herpes, syphilis, and HIV. Objective: To verify the occurrence of hearing impairment in children treated at the SUVAG Center of RN with indicators of risk of congenital infections. Methods: This is a retrospective, observational and descriptive study. The study population consisted of 4806 children aged 0 to 3 years treated at the RN SUVAG Center from 2011 to 2019. Of this total 693 children had a history of congenital infections alone or in combination with other risk indicators from the recorded data. in the institution's database. Expected Results: It is hoped that this work can contribute to the knowledge of health professionals about the etiological diagnosis for health decision making, as well as preventive actions in relation to congenital infections.
