SUMMARY:

The patient safety theme represents one of the biggest challenges for health services and has mobilized the search for strategies that ensure quality and safe health care. The Brazilian Ministry of Health sets as objectives the involvement of patients and families in patient safety actions, the expansion of society's access to information related to the theme. The products of this master's degree aim to propose strategies for health institutions in the patient's involvement in the care process through audiovisual materials. Assuming that a safety culture provides professionals, patients, family / caregivers with an integration among all where a more effective communication leads us to better health care. It proposes as the strategies: three short videos with theme Patient Safety for target audience pediatric patients and their caregivers and a course on the AVASUS platform on the theme directed to health professionals. For the construction of the products, the following steps were followed: review of scientific articles as a guiding process of the work, elaborated script for the videos based on the proposals of the International Patient Safety Goals, elaborated a 30h module for AVASUS platform divided into 4 units addressing complexity issues in patient care, international patient safety goals, patient and caregiver involvement, and presentation of supportive audiovisual tools. As a result, the products developed are expected to support the care team in the process of patient involvement and patient safety.
