SUMMARY:

Orthoses, Prostheses and Special Materials are part of a broad category of materials, with an extremely diverse universe of products used in performing medical, dental and physical therapy procedures, as well as in the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation or monitoring of patients. The management of such orthoses, prostheses and special materials permeates most hospital processes, from scheduling the procedure to accounting information, logistics, consumption and billing. This flow contributes to make its care and marketing characteristics complex, as it involves patients, doctors, health professionals, manufacturers, suppliers and managers. This context gives rise to the need to develop strategies to improve the management of the use of orthoses, prostheses and special materials. Thus, the development of an information system was listed as a strategy to contribute to the management of orthoses, prostheses and special materials at Onofre Lopes University Hospital, which presents difficulties that make the current management process fragile, insecure and subject to many failures that hinder institution and the patient himself. The objective of this work is to develop software to support the management of orthoses, prostheses and special materials, with the motivation to bring improvements to the work processes for health professionals, to improve the quality of the health service, as well as to achieve positive effects. for hospital management at an important University Hospital. The study was divided into three stages. The first stage of the work consisted of a literature review regarding the management of orthoses, prostheses and special materials, then a workflow was designed that favored the management and enabled the adaptation to the current legislation and in the last stage was designed and developed. software for the management of orthoses, prostheses and special materials called Haima. The present study focused on the design and development of viable software for a public health institution to innovate and improve the management of OPMEs. It has in its architecture the medical request in its own digital form, the authorization of the use of the material by the manager, the control of the waiting list, the scheduling of the procedures, the availability of the material, the reservation and the dispensation of the same on the day of the performance. procedure. The expectation with the implementation of Haima software is to improve the management of OPMEs, in order to improve communication between stakeholders, streamline and provide more security to the information flow, have more control in the process, and enable the insertion of a service. management with generation of indicators that allow greater security management.
