SUMMARY:

One of the great challenges of education is being able to motivate reading and develop writing skills in students. Thus, research indicates a substantial decrease in the number of readers, especially among children and adolescents. In this sense, it is necessary to develop innovative methodologies that can help improve reading and writing rates. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to develop an innovative proposal to improve reading and writing practices in elementary school, using storytelling and microlearning, aiming to develop students' communicative competence.  The method of this study involves a study workshop entitled “The use of storytelling and microlearning to develop reading and writing skills”, the workshop will take place weekly, for two months. In it, research participants will learn how to use these methodologies in their study practices, carry out various activities using them and answer questionnaires. The workshop meetings will be documented through videos and images, upon completion, the collected data, student productions and questionnaires will be analyzed. Productions will be evaluated according to criteria such as: organization, fulfillment of the proposal, adequacy, contextualization of the theme, creativity, originality, clarity, these criteria will be evaluated with: unsatisfactory, satisfactory, good and excellent. The statistical data from the questionnaires with objective questions will be described and an analysis of the data from the questionnaires with discursive questions will be carried out. Furthermore, through video documentation and notes, an analysis of student behavior will be carried out, considering the production of activities, participation in discussions and integration into groups - through a Net Promote Score (NPS) proposal. As expected results, the metrics of the proposed activities will be compared, highlighting their main results and evaluating the impacts of using the aforementioned active methodologies in adolescents' reading and writing routine. The products generated by this work will be a Vlog, with a playlist of videos explaining how to use this methodology in the classroom and what results it presented, with step-by-step instructions on how to develop the method at school.
