SUMMARY:

This study aims to highlight the contributions that the Seridó Geopark brings to the
teaching-learning process of Biology and Geography in the 1st grade of Potiguar High
School at the State School Professor Antônio Aladim de Araújo, in the city of Caicó-
RN. For this, we propose the production of various genres, under the perspective of
language and technology (comics, video-documentaries, vlogs, photographs, trails and
cartoons, reports, cordels, among other possible genres), based on notions of
technological innovation. The research question that guides this study is: “How do
language and technology about the Seridó Geopark contribute to the teaching-learning
process of students regarding Biology and Geography subjects?”. Regarding the
theoretical basis, we seek theoretical and methodological parameters in the works of:
Seridó Geopark (2023); Gomes (2019); Freire (2003); Thiollent (1986); Demo (2008);
Brazil (1996, 1998, 2006) and other varied authors. The relevance of this study is to
associate the reality of the students with the region where they live, especially in
relation to the existence and contribution of the Seridó Geopark to the space where we
live, attributing to this notions of tourism, environmental impacts, water issues,
biodiversity and local customs. In addition, students will have some phenomena
socialized in the scope of Biology and Geography, such as rain, wind, solar radiation,
rock transformation, flowering, fruits, environmental disasters, global warming, water
issue, minerals, among others. All these aspects are experienced by students in their
daily lives and it is important that they have knowledge of the influence and
contribution that the Geopark has on this issue. Regarding the methodological aspects, it
is an action research with field visits in the 1st grade class of the State School Professor
Antônio Aladim de Araújo in the municipality of Caicó-RN.
