SUMMARY:

In the New Secondary School - NSS (BRASIL, 2017) there was the creation of training itineraries through the elective curricular component. Associated with this, the implementation of Technical Courses Integrated to High School has been encouraged. In this teaching modality, it is essential that basic general training is integrated into professional training (CIAVATTA, 2008). In this scenario, it is essential to introduce computational thinking (CT) skills for the possibility of solving complex problems (WING, 2011) and help in the development of creativity. The CT allows to increase cognitive capacity, innovation and creativity (BLIKSTEIN, 2022). In professional education, epistemic games can be used, as they allow immersion in professional practice through interaction with situations - problems that require the use of skills from their professional training, while playing and, therefore, learning (PRENSKY, 2012; MATTAR, 2013; DE SENA et al., 2016). The development of CT can occur in disciplines (VALENTE, 2016), as in the training itineraries proposed through elective disciplines at NSS. Therefore, this work aims to: Analyze the development of computational thinking in New High School students integrated into Professional Education, through the creation of an elective discipline that explores the creation of epistemic games. The work will be developed in a state public school of professional education. The course will consist of 3 modules. The evaluation of the discipline will be carried out through the application of a semi-structured questionnaire, with open and closed questions that will be answered by the participants. The evaluation of the development of CT skills will be carried out through the application of pre and post-test with activities based on Bebras (International Challenge on Informatics and Computational Thinking), as well as through the analysis of the games produced. After application of the proposal, the data obtained will be analyzed and disclosed to verify the effectiveness of the proposal in the development of CT in professional secondary education.
