SUMMARY:

In compliance with the norms contained in the Law of Directives and Bases of National Education, National Curriculum Guidelines for Nursing, and other regulations, the undergraduate nursing curriculum has supervised internship as a mandatory discipline. Thus, nursing professionals who work in the health institution assume the role of preceptor, a professional responsible for clinical teaching and supervision of students, monitoring and guiding in daily practice, integrating theory and practice, contributing to the training of more qualified professionals. Based on these elements, we intend to answer the following research question: How can active methodologies, especially Problem-Based Learning (PBA), contribute to the expansion of the technical/professional and pedagogical repertoire of nurses who work as preceptors? The objective of this study was to develop a model based on active methodologies, especially Problem-Based Learning (PBA), to support the practice of nursing preceptorship, aiming to improve the methodological processes of teaching in the wards of the Onofre Lopes University Hospital - HUOL. It consists of an action research with an interpretative paradigm and qualitative approach, developed from the following phases: Exploratory phase - situational diagnosis and of the needs of the actors involved; Main phase- planning of actions, priorities and research hypotheses with search for solutions and action proposals based on the scientific literature that portrays the theme; Action phase - operationalization and implementation of the model in hospital practice; Evaluation phase - use of instruments that contemplate the cognitive, attitudinal and psychomotor attributes of formative and summative character understood as a dynamic, participative and continuous procedure for verification of the proposed objectives. As a technological product, an e-book (digital book) will be elaborated, guided by the use of active teaching methodologies and ICT, based on the proposed model, which should be validated and used as a teaching training strategy for the exercise of preceptorship, as a possibility of (re)signification of this practice by nurses, promoting changes in the teaching and learning process in the hospital environment. In addition to standardizing the work process in preceptorship, it is expected that this study will promote improvements in the practices already carried out from the inclusion of technological tools and active methodologies in the practice of preceptor nurses, as well as greater coordination between nursing management and coordination with nursing professionals who act as preceptors, promoting the recognition and appreciation of their activities and thus strengthening nursing as a science.
