SUMMARY:

The globalized world is, in general, in need of professionals increasingly prepared to solve problems in an innovative and entrepreneurial way, involving several areas of knowledge. This need for change has provoked several debates in the world, about what is the best way to constitute an education capable of forming critical-reflective citizens who have skills considered fundamental. One of the themes highlighted in these debates is computational thinking. The Brazilian educational model has been the target of criticism, as it appears, in general, to be incapable of training this type of professional. At the forefront of this process are educators, people who are responsible for training this type of professional. However, they were not trained in this perspective and, in most cases, they have not experienced innovative practices that allow them to improve their knowledge in computational thinking, including in the methodologies adopted, actions based on interdisciplinarity and problem solving. Given the dimensions of a country like Brazil and the urgent need for teacher training in computational thinking, this work raises the following problem: how to design a training of Computational Thinking in a massive, interdisciplinary format and focused on practice, so that it comes to meet existing demands? In search of a solution to this problem, the present research aims to develop a model of teacher training in computational thinking, in an interdisciplinary perspective, which aims to reach a greater number of teachers through the massive open online format (MOOC). Seeking to better understand the possibilities and feasibility of this training proposal, some aspects were worked on in a continuing education course offered in remote format at the end of 2020, in the context of the Norte-rio-grandense Program of Computational Thinking (Pensa RN). From this experience, some ideas, examples and experiences were discussed with the course participants who had the opportunity to materialize these concepts through different types of artifacts, such as lesson plans, didactic sequences, games and activities, exploring computational thinking in different ways. knowledge areas. The result obtained in this proposal resulted in materials that prove that the skills of computational thinking are present in the most diverse fields of knowledge, since the real problems involve interdisciplinarity. An analysis was made of other courses existing in the Brazilian context, including those offered in massive format, aiming at a better understanding of the current situation for the research. In addition, a systematic literature review was carried out and a new proposal for a distance education course was designed to be offered in the second half of 2022 to be evaluated.
