SUMMARY:

This study was part of the Graduate Program in Educational Technologies –
PPgITE, from Instituto Metrópole Digital, from UFRN, and addressed the topic of Digital Technologies
of Information and Communication in education, especially the use by teachers of
multiplatform messaging WhatsApp. During the isolation caused by the pandemic
caused by COVID-19, which has significantly altered social behavior in a
global, this application was used a lot. The teachers looked for alternatives to resume the
communication with their students and the most practical means in pandemic times was through
digital technologies. So, as a research question we asked: What knowledge and
skills need to be learned by teachers to incorporate new tools
digital technologies in your pedagogical praxis, such as WhatsApp? the choice of
WhatsApp was due to its wide use by all sectors of society,
mainly in the lower classes. This application is used for more diverse relationships
personal and commercial and in education could not be different, as it was the most popular application
use and reach in the school-family-teacher-student relationship. In this sense, the general objective was
develop a study on the use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies –
TDIC, focusing on WhatsApp as a potentiating tool for pedagogical didactic innovation with elementary school teachers from municipal schools in RN.
Specific objectives: to identify the professional profile of teachers who teach in the
initial stages of Elementary School in a municipal school, to know their demands in terms of
in relation to the use of digital technologies in the classroom; analyze and characterize experiences of
teachers who use digital tools (especially WhatsApp) as a resource
pedagogical, to identify demands of pedagogical use beyond intuition; identify
training demands of teachers participating in the study about the use of WhatsApp
as a didactic-pedagogical resource; develop a Virtual Pedagogical Didactic Material
(MDPV), in a collaborative way, to enhance the didactic-pedagogical innovation of the
teachers regarding the use of Whatsapp in teaching practice. The theoretical approach prioritized
the categories WhatsApp, TDIC, teacher training, teaching-learning relationship.
We incorporated as authors of the study reference: Almeida and Valente (2010), Valente
(2000), Ramalho, Núñez, Gauthier (2004), Imbernón (2010), Sibilia (2012), Kenski (2012),
Gómez (2015), Moran et all (2013), Bannel (2020), Porto et all (2017). We consult
official documents (MEC, CNE, BNCC, Pedagogical Political Project of the School), in addition to
framework provided by UNESCO and its associated institutions. As for the procedure
methodological this research was framed in the area of Human Sciences, we used the method
Participatory action research defended by Tripp (2005) and Filippo et all (2020) where
defends the active participation of the researched subjects, encouraging them to reflect, to research
about pedagogical problems in relation to the use of TDIC and consequently provoking
positive change in pedagogical practice. We used as data collection instruments the
participant observation resource, digital field diary, Google Form, reports,
WhatsApp, videos and smartphone. We hope that teachers expand their knowledge
in the use of TDIC as a pedagogical resource, but also to develop activities
meaningful and contextualized with the use of the multiplatform communication WhatsApp.
