SUMMARY:

In early childhood education, the first contacts are established with mathematics in the school environment, and from these experiences, children’s hypotheses about mathematics are expanded and new will be built. These moments are important for the development od children and can influence the construction of a positive relationship with mathematic, so it is evident that such experiences need to be permeated by situations that arouse pleasure and are motivating. Considering the technological advances and the presence of digital games in the daily lives of young children, they can be perceived as resources for the construction of mathematical concepts in early childhood education, in view of the playfulness they provide, contributing to the establishment of a rich learning space, uniting what the child needs to learn with what he/she likes to do - play. With the literature review, we realized that only one work retrieved is related to the use of digital games in the process of building mathematical knowledge, which confirms the need for investigations in this area. Given the above, this research proposes to reflect on the possibilities of using digital games for mathematical literacy in early childhood education. For this, it takes as its guide the following question-problem: How can digital games be used in the mathematical literacy of children in kindergarten? Its general objective is to analyze the possibilities of using digital games in the mathematical literacy process in early childhood education. In addition to this, the following specific objectives are part of the research: to identify digital games that can be used in mathematics literacy in early childhood education; build didactic sequences that use digital games for mathematical literacy; to develop a training proposal for kindergarten teachers on possibilities of using digital games in the mathematical literacy process; ; evaluate didactic sequences, using digital games for mathematical literacy, with the collaboration of training course participants. This is a qualitative research, with nuances of action research, involving CEI teachers Rui Miranda, located in the municipality of Ceará-Mirim, Rio Grande do Norte. To support the discussions, dialogues will be woven with authors such as Prensky (2012), Kenski (2008), Fittipaldi (2009), Alves (2008), among others. In view of the potential of digital games, the unveiling of how these resources can be used in the mathematical literacy of children in kindergarten becomes a great challenge, so that their results can contribute to the transformation of the pedagogical practice of many teachers and make math literacy more enjoyable for children at this stage of basic education.
