SUMMARY:

Computational Thinking (PC) has been recommended to be applied in the training of students and teachers because it contributes to skills regarding the development of critical thinking. However, there are still few works that report activities in Youth and Adult Education (EJA). This gap widens when one looks at the training of teachers who work with EJA. Facing this, the following research question arises: Is it possible to establish a relationship between the pillars of Computational Thinking and Paulo Freire's literacy method of Youth and Adult Education? In this sense, the general objective is to analyze a relationship between the pillars of Computational Thinking and Paulo Freire's method, aiming to contribute to the literacy process of young people and adults. Specifically, it seeks to: i) Analyze an incorporation of computational thinking in the process of training EJA teachers; ii) Check the teaching materials used by EJA teachers and specify subsidies for the development of computational thinking; iii) Analyze the Curriculum and Computing Guidelines in Basic Education, to identify the challenges and opportunities in the literacy process for young people and adults; iv) Identify training specifics regarding EJA audience to define didactic-pedagogical parameters of the Paulo Freire method that can be associated with computational thinking; v) Create a pedagogical guide aimed at training EJA teachers for the literacy process of young people and adults with computational thinking. In the methodological scope, this research fits into the area of Human Sciences, because it has an interdisciplinary character between the areas of Computing and Education. Regarding its goals, it is classified as an explanatory research. Regarding the nature that it is concerned upon, it follows a qualitative approach. Regarding the methodological procedures, it stands out as the field study. Questionnaire will be the used data collection instrument. Descriptive statistics is adopted as the analysis technique. To carry out these steps, a form will be developed with teachers who work in EJA at the Antônio de Azevedo State School, in the city of Jardim do Seridó, RN. The training will be conducted using Google Education tools. As a result, it is intended to create a Computational Thought Guide to be used in the training of EJA teachers.
