SUMMARY:

Given the reality in which we live where there are more telephone lines and telephone scans than people in Brazil and focusing on the increasingly present needs in our society to be digitally inserted, the present work has as main objective the development of a methodology, focusing on the elderly population of low income. After rambling through the literature on youth and adult education and the historical context of education for the elderly in Brazil and in the world, a specific methodology was developed for the elderly population, taking into account the evident differences in how we deal with the teaching of young people and adults, which does not achieve the necessary objectives when it comes to an elderly person , aiming to insert them into society, so that they can have autonomy to develop day-to-day activities without the need for third-party help. The proposed methodology is based on the main barriers and difficulties encountered for the education of the elderly, taking into account the focus on digital inclusion, so it was based on the following pillars: a) co-participation in the objectives, that is, a less technical education and more focused on the needs of the elderly; b) participatory activities, a dialogical process between the elderly and facilitators; c) problematizing activities aligned with the life trajectory of the elderly and d) repetition of learning, taking into account the cognitive difficulties encountered by the elderly in the traditional teaching-learning process. Finally, this research contributes to a methodology applicable to the elderly in any social condition, but mainly with those who are even illiterate.
