SUMMARY:

The IMD/UFRN Information Technology Technical course contributes to the training of professionals in the area of Information Technology in Rio Grande do Norte, it works in a semi-attendance manner and has as a problem the late knowledge of students' learning difficulties so as not to compromise your academic performance. From the generation of various digital data in the Virtual Learning Environments (AVA) and the possibility of using this information for didactic, pedagogical, and academic purposes, the Science of Learning Analytics (LA) was defined for the development of Educational Technologies to perform prediction of academic learning, to investigate whether the selection process is working. For investigation, LA technologies are used to investigate the correlation between the entrance exam data and its success in prospecting students with IT skills through the exam with Computational Thinking contents and the relationship with their academic performance. The objective of the research is to develop a predictive model to, from the selection test, identify the academic performance in the course, using the Design Science Research (DSR) methodology for the development of artifacts.
