SUMMARY:

The evolution of teaching and learning processes is carried out by changes in the classroom, in didactic materials, in the way students and teachers interact with each other, and on what regards time and space. Little progress, however, has been noted referring to ways of assessing students' learning processes. Some educational institutions adopt VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) to aid students and teachers along the teaching and learning processes, which generates a substantial amount of data on how students interact with such tools, creating learning pathways. Thus, this work aims to assist teacher training through the development of reference material for the analysis of educational data from the use of a VLE. For that matter, data and graphs on the use of VLE by students will be analyzed, making it possible the search for patterns that include how the students trace their learning pathways. The methodology used here will be an Action Research, with a hybrid quanti-quali approach, starting with the analysis of the interaction records of 140 6th-graders regarding the English subject, in a private school located in Natal / RN , throughout the first semester of 2020. The data collected by the VLE will serve as a basis for the construction and analysis of graphs, aiming to identify patterns of behavior and performance, enabling the modeling of learning pathways. After that, reference material for teacher training will be created, so that they may learn how to generate graphs and analyze them seeking to understand how their 490 students build their learning in the VLE, providing assistance on aiding the learning and development processes of their students. This material is expected to contribute to the training of more teachers, within and without the school site of this study, with a view to contribute to the community and the development of different forms of assessing learning processes.
