RESUMO:

This paper investigates the educational possibilities open by social video networks, especially YouTube. From the democratization of the production and distribution of videos, resulting from the use of mobile phones and social networks, this process aims to foster a direction that allows students to embrace the chosen pedagogical practice, which in this specific case is audiovisual. The effectiveness of the proposal establishes the production of videos and the addition of all its stages, such as the writing of the script, production, editing and publication by students with the mediation of the teacher, in order to be published on the YouTube platform in channel. created specifically for the conduct of the study. The measure gives students the uniqueness of protagonists in this process of teaching and learning. The proposal will be applied in the axis of the public sphere, at the Nossa Senhora de Fátima Municipal School, being developed in the curriculum component of Geography in Elementary School II with the class of the 9th evening. The locus of work is Municipality of Extremoz - RN, inserted in the metropolitan region of the capital, more precisely in the rural community of Vila de Fátima. The aim of the study is to promote through media production, the interaction between the geographical concepts worked in the educational environment and the local identity of the place. To verify the researched elements the study tabulated the following aspects analyzed: the types of languages used by the Youtubers, the Iconography of the videos, the sound, duration of the materials produced and the target audience. The verification elements mentioned were part of the set of items that worked in the observation process of the selected channels and evaluated during the research. The theoretical framework was guided by a conceptual construction assigning as parameters the following aspects: the educational system in some developed nations, the audiovisual as an educational tool and the streaming as a facilitating instrument for school activities. The current stage of the research is with partial results, since the students are finalizing the practical productions and these results will be described systematically in the structuring body of the dissertation. Therefore, the paper reaffirms the purpose of contributing to the process of streamlining the educational scenario, bringing a contemporary, entrepreneurial and functional proposal regarding the improvement of student performance.
