RESUMO:

The technological advances that have occurred over the last few years have put the human being in front of a multitude of information that is propagated in real time by the most diverse means of communication, such as smartphones. The way the information is presented by the media (newspapers, magazines, newsletters, etc.) does not always favor their understanding by the individual, the inability to read this information or the incorrect disclosure of statistical representation. For a citizen to be reflective and independent, he needs to be clear about the events around him. To do so, it is important that you be able to handle the information presented to you in a critical way to make decisions and to exercise full citizenship. Starting from this reality, the question arises: How can smartphones help the development of Information Processing skills? Thus, the object of this study will be the use of smartphones for the development of Information Processing skills. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the contributions of smartphones in the development of innovative pedagogical practices of Information Processing. It presents the theoretical framework on mobile digital technology inserted in education, as well as the integration of technological, pedagogical and content knowledge (TPACK) in the teaching of Statistics with the use of smartphones. In the technological dimension, the importance in the BYOD model (Bring your own device) is analyzed; in pedagogy the PPDAC model (Problem, Plan, Data, Analysis, Conclusion) in the preparation of contextualized teaching sequences; and in the dimension of content the skills for the Treatment of Information present in the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) and Prova Brasil. We have seen the timid use of the smartphone in the scenario of the surveys raised through a Systematic Review of Literature and that, although there has been an increase in research over the years, none has made use of smartphone apps for Information Handling. We adopted the procedures of collaborative research according to the D-ESTAT project (Professional Development of Teachers Teaching Statistics) to which this research is linked. The subjects are the Mathematics teachers of the final years of Elementary School of a school from Natal/RN. The formation of D-ESTAT takes place at least once a month in the planning time of teachers in the school environment. In the methodological procedures, the PPDAC model will be used with teachers in the teaching of Information Processing skills, through the elaboration of an innovative teaching sequence with the use of smartphones for the Treatment of Information, relating them to the relevant contents of according to the skills descriptors of Prova Brasil and BNCC. The stage of the co-situation, according to the procedures of the collaborative research, has been happening since may 2018 with the formation of D-ESTAT, when the project was established in the school, providing the professional development of teachers. The co-operation will take place concurrently with the formative meetings. The reports of experience, the productions at each stage of the investigative cycle will be collected and reported through the field diary analysis, audio and video recordings, photographs, among others. The co-production will take place at the moment of planning and applying the sequence of innovative teaching within the school.
