RESUMO:

The present research aims to create guidelines for the accessible production of digital didactic materials, produced in the context of undergraduate courses, in the distance modality, directed to people with visual impairment. The study has as a locus of development the Department of Distance Education of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (SEDIS / UFRN), whose premise is to meet a growing demand of students with visual impairment, who have enrolled in undergraduate distance courses in the institution in the last years. The theoretical perspective is based on the conceptions of FILATRO (2004 and 2016), PREECE, ROGERS and SHARP (2013) and PORTUGAL (2013), as well as guidelines for Universal Design for Learning. Methodologically, the research is divided into three stages: the first consists of a bibliographic survey involving areas of knowledge that permeate research, such as instructional design, interaction design and accessibility, as well as related themes. The second stage, dedicated to the development of the adapted material, is subdivided into three moments: (a) a qualitative research, with data collection from users of blind books with low vision; (b) making a high-complexity prototype of didactic material of a course of undergraduate course, and ending with (c) an assessment with visually impaired consultants. The third and last stage comprises the documentation of the research, describing all stages of the process, with diagnosis and recommendations to be adopted in future productions. The expected results of the research, through preliminary data obtained from users of accessible books and collaborators, and similar research, point out that the best alternative is the e-book format, since its structure allows screen reader software to identify the content present in the book, in addition to the alternative text feature, which replaces the image when it is not available, essential for people with visual impairment to view the image.
