Recently, polymeric composites reinforced with natural fibers have been gaining prominence in the development of research, with the objective of replacing synthetic materials used in reinforcements. However, poor interfacial adhesion of natural fibers with the polymer matrix can negatively affect the mechanical and physical properties of composites. The APTES type silane coupling agent was applied to composites in order to promote better adhesion between the materials and consequently bring more satisfactory results to the mechanical and physical properties of polymeric matrix composites reinforced with residual sisal fiber powder. The aim of this work, then, is to investigate the influence of the addition of APTES on these composites and compare the results with composites without silane coupling agent treatment.
