RESUMO:

Inadequate lubrication provokes acceleration of wear, caused by deterioration of the contact zones between solids acting under load, so systems require more energy to function. Raman spectroscopy is one of the techniques that stands out in the characterization of tribomechanical systems, due to the facility of data obtaining without preliminary sample preparation, this technique makes use of a monochromatic laser beam, which focuses and reflects in a sample space, the reflected light is captured by a lens and filter system and analyzed by a spectrometer, where it is possible to identify chemical compounds formed during surface´s abrasion, which makes this technique very effective in characterizing tribological tests. This work's objective is the instrumentation of a Raman spectrometer, working on corroboration with a pin on disk tribometer, in order to characterize the formation of lubricating film in lubricated systems acting under relative movement, the boundary lubrication regime, characteristic of low speeds and high loads were adopted to perform the tests, Raman analysis was performed over the counterbody wear track, the material used as tribopar was an 8 mm diameter SAE 52100 steel sphere and a SAE 1045 steel disc, the tribotests were performed at 500 RPM, varying the load of 25 N to 80 N. The lubricant used was epoxidized soybean oil additived with amorphous carbon nanoparticles, varying the dispersion of the additive in the lubricant. A high speed camera was also coupled to the system over the wear track, in order to identify the wear mechanisms and the formation of lubricating film.
