Conventional cutting fluids are widely used in machining processes because of their lubri-coolant properties. The use of these fluids, although quite advantageous to the process, has been questioned due to the presence of toxic elements in its composition, which cause damage to the environment and human health. Environmental concerns and human health issues have led to legislation being created in many countries restricting the use of certain products or components considered harmful, this, together with the fact that the high costs involved in the consumption of conventional cutting fluids has motivated researchers around the world to develop alternative lubrication methods in the machining processes. The objective of this work was to evaluate and compare the performance of three nanoubricants of the same vegetable base (epoxidized soybean oil) and different nanoparticles (CuO, aC: H and CuO + aC: H) in the MQL turning of ABNT tool steel D6, using a PCBN tool, thus seeking to present sustainable and efficient alternatives for the machining of steels with high hardness. In order to achieve the general objective, turning tests will be performed under different lubrication conditions (wet, MQL and MQNL), analyzes of roughness, tool wear and chip morphology will be made. So far, only wet and MQL have been tested. The wet condition presented a reduction of 18.3% in the roughness when compared to the MQL. From the point of view of the useful life of the tool, the statistical analysis made based on the collected data does not allow to affirm which condition of lubrication had better performance. Until now, it can be concluded that the epoxidized soybean oil applied with MQL had satisfactory performance, approaching the results obtained with spurt lubrication
