Analysis of Wear on Radial Sliding Bearings of Pump Motors Using Low Cost Instrumentation
Arduino. Submersible pumps. Vibration Analysis. Fast Fourier Transform.
The use of pumps installed in artesian wells for subsoil water extraction is a technique widely used in Brazil, especially in the Northeast, where droughts are predominant during the year. In this way, the present work aims to study on the radial sliding bearings of the pump motors used in the Mossoró-RN wells. A low cost data acquisition system was developed using Arduino and MPU6050 sensor to capture the vibration signals of system. The sensor was positioned near the radial bearing. Three different bearing situations were analyzed, the first with factory setting, 0.1 mm of clearance between shaft and bearing bush, the second and third with induced clearance, of 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm. For each situation, the experiment was repeated 10 times in a period of 3 minutes each. The data obtained in Arduino were manipulated with the aid of the Fast Fourier transform to obtain the frequency spectrum for each level of clearance. It was possible to identify a standard for each proposed situation and the effectiveness of the low cost acquisition system was proven.
