SUMMARY:

NOMA (Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access) appears as a very concrete alternative to the multiple access strategy for the 5th Generation of Mobile Communications Systems (5G) because it fulfills all the requirements to be used in 5G: to guarantee the massive connectivity requirements to the Internet of things, provide high-speed Internet access services and provide services that are sensitive to delay and error rate. With NOMA it is possible to guarantee a significant improvement in the spectral efficiency of the mobile communications system, since the main objective of NOMA is the transmission of two or more users sharing the same resources of time, frequency and code. Signal multiplexing is done in the power domain, where users with better channel conditions receive lower power coefficients compared to users with worse channel conditions. At the receiver, the signal is separated by Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC). This work has as a hypothesis the possibility of improving the spectral efficiency of 5G networks through the coexistence of independent NOMA systems that share resources with each other, using a new downlink scheme that will seek to minimize the impact of coexistence on the systems performance. This scheme will use user clustering and power allocation algorithms that return a sub-optimal and optimal solution to the problems of user clustering and power allocation, respectively. The performance of this approach will be analyzed in a scenario with two independent NOMA networks, considering that the first network is unaware of the second network and that both do not decode each other's messages, in order to avoid any information security breach.
