RESUMO:

In recent published works, wireless devices are presented as alternatives for monitoring several medical parameters, with applications in the frequency bands designated for Medical Device Radiocommunications Service, or MedRadio (401 - 405 MHz), Medical Implant Communication Services, or MICS (402-405 MHz), and Industrial, Scientific and Medical, or ISM (433 - 435.8 MHz, 2.4 - 2.5 GHz). This dissertation proposal main objective is the simulation and design of new geometries of compact printed antennas, such as small microstrip antennas, for medical applications. The investigated and proposed antenna geometries are printed on FR-4 dielectric layers, with relative permittivity of 4.4 and thickness of 1.57 mm. Simulations were performed using Ansoft HFSS software and initially the antennas are implemented in human tissue reproductions for ISM applications. The continuity of the work is commented on and a timetable for its conclusion is presented.
