RESUMO:

Flying Ad hoc Network (FANET) are presented as a solution for communication networks used in multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (multi-UAVs) systems. The coordinating and management task of the dynamic behavior of this type of network in order to minimize disconnections and allow the functioning of the system through a set of requirements is hard and it has found constrains from solutions in the literature. However, a new paradigma of network management emerges as an attractive solution, called Software Defined Networking (SDN). The SDN using allows centralized control of the network and provides the controller the ability to program the infraestructure devices by changing the data forwarding from a global view of the network.  From this perspective, this proposal presents the SD-FANET architecture. The SD-FANET is a SDN solution to improve the performance of multi-UAVs system used for coverage area. In order to achieve this, the architecure uses a distributed controller and a set of auxiliary modules to monitor the mission and enable decision making. For confirming the proposed architecture and running the initial experiments, the system is simulated in Mininet-WiFi. The first experimental tests are made to check the communication protocol used to image transmission in ZigBee links.The preliminare results show that the communication protocol was able to send images in some scenarios of hovering and moving flight and the SD-FANET architecture is presented as a alternative solution to minimize the constrains imposed by FANET.
