RESUMO:

This work presents a proposal to reduce energy consumption in software defined networks through the use of parallel processing in the network control plan. Software-defined networks are a new paradigm in network environments where separation of data plane and control plane allows for greater flexibility and centralized management of network infrastructure. However this paradigm also implies new challenges, being fault tolerance and energy efficiency of the control plan two challenges that seem at first glance antagonistic. This work presents a proposal to use parallel processing and distributed in the search for energy efficiency without loss in the resilience of the SDN controllers. This proposal is especially relevant in data center environments with high density of network equipment.
