RESUMO:

The reconfigurability it’s a very important characteristic for modern communication systems which allows a single structure adapts to different scenarios of the same application, such as radomes, cognitive radio and adaptive screens that blocks undesirable wireless transmission. This feature can be achieved by traditional methods using active semiconductors (PIN and Schottky diodes) or coupled varactors on each basic element of the FSS which it’s necessary a separated circuit to feed these devices. However, these methods request an elevated active elements number that increases the complexity and fabrication cost of the structure which opens space for simpler and robust techniques of selectivity such as mechanical configurability. The proposed model it’s a reconfigurable frequency selective surface – FSS X-band operating formed by triangular elements disposed in a single dielectric FR-4 glass fiber surface. The proposed FSS allows a resonance frequency configurability variating the angle of incident wave in TE polarization and can be applied in cognitive radio technology through a micro controlled interface.
