SUMMARY:

Introduction: Gestational hypertension accounts for about 14% of all maternal deaths worldwide and approximately 22% in Latin America. The importance of nutritional care in high-risk prenatal settings aims to reduce the prevalence of gestational nutritional disorders. Educational technologies such as printed booklets are didactic and easily accessible materials, considered an important means of promoting health. Objectives: To create and validate nutritional support technology for pregnant women with arterial hypertension within a high-risk prenatal service. Methodology: Methodological research focusing on the development, evaluation, and refinement of an instrument. The construction of the educational booklet followed the definition of its title, gathering content from the "Guia Alimentar Para População Brasileira: Promovendo a Alimentação Saudável", "Diretriz Brasileira de Hipertensão Arterial" and "Diretriz de Hipertensão Arterial na Gestação" from the Brazilian Society of Cardiology. We also consulted the 6th edition of the "Manual de Gestação de Alto Risco" from the Brazilian Ministry of Health. After defining the information, it proceeded to textual elaboration, creating a logical sequence about arterial hypertension during pregnancy. Images were chosen to illustrate the information presented in textual form. The validation of this study will be conducted by 7 judges meeting the inclusion criteria. A Likert scale of 4 points and the Content Validity Index were used, considering the booklet validated when reaching a cutoff point above 0.80. Preliminary Results: With the creation and validation of the educational booklet, it is hoped that health professionals involved in high-risk prenatal care will feel more confident in providing guidance related to nutritional care. Despite the validation phase being completed, the educational booklet will still be presented to the management of the Seridó Hospital, suggesting its implementation in the high-risk prenatal care of said institution.
