SUMMARY:

Since the Flexner Report, medical education has evolved in Brazil, emphasizing Primary Health Care (PHC) and competency-based teaching models. The More Doctors Program (PMM) in 2013 and the creation of the Multicampus School of Medical Sciences of Rio Grande do Norte (EMCM-UFRN) brought significant changes. The Vivência Integrada na Comunidade (VIC) stands out as an innovative longitudinal internship. These transformations aim to train more engaged, humanistic physicians capable of meeting the community's needs and the Unified Health System (SUS). Thus, this study aims to create a guide primarily for students in the VIC modules at EMCM-UFRN, improving not only their on-site experience but also assisting other interested parties in understanding the dynamics of these modules. Through qualitative research with an exploratory and descriptive approach, considering the researcher's experience as a former monitor and graduate of the institution, positive and weak points were identified, important for the students' performance in the VIC modules. Consequently, it was possible to create a Guide for VIC Students at EMCM-UFRN, containing essential information, logistical procedures, rights, duties, and previous experience reports. In conclusion, this study resulted in an essential guide for EMCM-UFRN VIC students, filling logistical gaps and sharing valuable experiences. VIC stands out for its innovative approach to medical education, but the lack of comparable documentation was a challenge. The guide provides guidance from entry to program completion, facilitating student adaptation. It also shares success stories and lessons learned. This guide is flexible and adaptable, accommodating changes in medical education, and can serve as a model for other areas, enhancing the educational experience in different contexts
