Improvement of Free Attenuation of Stopband Filter Applying Complementary Split Ring Resonators
Stopband filter; Complementary split ring resonator; CSRR; Free attenuation.
This work proposes the improvement of parameters of a reject-band compact filter. The improvement of the parameters is achieved by modifying the ground plane of the analyzed filters by the insertion of Complementary Split-ring Resonators (CSRRs). Filters with circular and rectangular CSRRs are analyzed. The insertion of circular CSRRs improved the free attenuation, whereas the insertion of rectangular CSRR led to an improvement of the selectivity of the filter. Numerical and experimental results are presented, observing a good agreement between them.
